goals

What I like about the goal of a marathon vs. a goal of weight loss is that the latter is so intangible to me and then I end up not seeing progress fast enough and then give up. Don't get me wrong, I want to lose weight as much as any other media-brainwashed-American woman, but I really like that it is just a perk rather than a focus.

On a note to my Utah counterparts: I ran outside yesterday. Be proud of me.

I'm with you Lacy. I've been focusing on weight loss for the last year, so it's a nice relief to be focused on things like increasing my endurance and speed. Some days I actually forget to weigh myself, that's how I really known my focus has shifted.

I too am not one bit worried about weight right now. It's so nice to be able to feel a sense of accomplishment when you actually reach goals you've set. I also love seeing my endurance increase as I follow this plan.
